The 2024 Edinburgh Festival Fringe is on the horizon, and more programming has been announced by Assembly, one of the major venue operators of the festival.
Running July 31 to August 26, the Assembly Festival within the Edinburgh Fringe will take place in a number of venues throughout Edinburgh, including Assembly Roxy, Assembly Checkpoint, Assembly Hall, Assembly Rooms, and Assembly George Square Gardens.
This newest round of programming puts a bright spotlight on the art of queer cabaret, including the Edinburgh Fringe debut of actress, comedian and content-creator Dylan Mulvaney in Dylan Mulvaney: F*G HAG. As a trans rights activist, Mulvaney has documented her journey on social media through her Days of Girlhood series, which has in equal turn uplifted trans individuals across the globe while also drawing the ire of conservatives.
Equally familiar with the line between queer celebration and conservative controversy is Edinburgh Fringe favorite Reuben Kaye, who will return with his Playbill Pick variety show The Kaye Hole, as well the UK debut of his show Reuben Kaye: Live and Intimidating.

The legendary drag Ghost-Whisperer will return with Séayoncé: She Must Be Hung!, Ricky Sim will return with his stand-up/storytelling show An Asian Queer Story: Coming Out to Dead People, and Andrew White will be Young, Gay and a Third Thing in his new hour of stand-up material that tackles identity, authenticity, and Musical Theatre themed weddings.
The BBC named "Queen of the Fringe” Camille O’Sullivan will return for her 20th Fringe season, this time paying tribute to the dearly departed artists that have influenced her, including Shane McGowan, Sinead O'Connor, Leonard Cohen, and David Bowie. Also in the music arena, there will be a new KC & the Sunshine Band musical, Who Do Ya Love?, and a solo musical The Imitator.
Assembly's Made in Scotland showcase will once again be on offer, presenting an array of Scottish originating artists and their ֱ, as well as their House of Oz season, which highlights Australian artists who traverse the world to perform on the Fringe.
